UAE Free Zone
The UAE has over 45 Free Zones of which more than half are located in Dubai.
Setting up a legal entity in one of the UAE’s many Free Trade Zones (FTZs) can be a good option for foreign investors. The main attraction for setting up a company in a Free Zone is that there is no UAE national shareholding required and the number of business activities offered by the Free Zones fulfils foreign investors’ expectations and requirements. On the other hand, Free Zones have some limitations. Companies holding a Free Zone license can only operate within the Free Zone boundaries. Free zone establishments are not allowed to exert their activity outside of the Free Zone.
A Free Zone Company can obtain UAE residence visas for director, shareholder and also employees of the company through the Free Zone where it is registered.
All Free Zones in UAE offer the following incentives:
– 100% foreign ownership of the enterprise
– 100% repatriation of capital and profits
– 100% exemption for import and export duties
– No currency restrictions
